Nicolás began his legal practice as an associate lawyer at Navarrete y Compañía and later alternated his practice with the public service as a consultant lawyer and head of staff at the Undersecretary of Economy; lawyer of the Foreign Investment Arbitration Defense Program of the Ministry of Economy; head of advisors at the Ministry of National Defense; and, head of advisors at the Internal Affairs Ministry.
Foreign associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Washington DC. Nicolás Muñoz has also been a city councilman in the Providencia district. He is the secretary of the Board of Directors of Eurochile Foundation and partner at Aylwin y Compañía.
Bachelor of Social Sciences in Law (J.D.), Universidad de Chile Law School. Master in International Law (LL.M.), New York University. Nicolás has attended courses on International Arbitration at the Washington College of Law of American University and on International Dispute Resolution at Heidelberg University.
He was a teaching assistant on Private International Law and on International Contracting at Universidad de Chile Law School, and professor of Private International Law and International Arbitration at Universidad Alberto Hurtado Law School.
