He has focused his professional practice on environmental matters, communities, and regulated markets, advising major mining and energy companies. He has worked in both the public and private sectors, within and outside of Chile. He was Chief of Staff at the Superintendency of Pension Fund Administrators (AFP) and an assistant lawyer at the Constitutional Court. Later, he worked as an associate lawyer at Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg in Washington D.C., and at Herbert, Smith & Freehills in London. He was an associate lawyer at Aylwin Abogados, and since 2015, he is a partner at Aylwin Matta. In the academic field, he has taught at the Judicial Academy and has been a professor of Administrative Law and State Liability at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Chile, as well as in the diploma programs in Global Administrative Law and Environment and Sustainable Development at the Faculty of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

- Advised two mining companies on environmental and community relations aspects for the most important lithium project in the country.
- Participated in a mediation process before the OECD, representing a transnational energy company.
- Participated in the defense of a large mining company in two environmental damage trials before the First Environmental Court.
- Has advised a non-conventional renewable energy company on net billing, PMDG, and utility-scale projects worth over USD 600 million.
- Has advised 5 large copper mining companies in various environmental assessments.
